Privacy Policy

Information you give us

• Waitlist signups: your email address, how you'd describe your wine knowledge, your phone platform, confirmation that you're 21 or older, and, if you choose to share them, your age range, city and a short answer about your taste.
• Demo requests: your name, role, work email, business name, city, venue details, and optionally a phone number and notes.
• Account and app content: if you create an account, your profile details, plus what you add in the app, such as photos of wine labels, ratings, tasting notes, comments and stickers.
• Messages: anything you send us when you contact us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages and screens viewed, buttons tapped, and how you move through the Services, along with device type, browser, operating system, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, and referring page.
• Session recordings: on the website we may record how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, navigation) to find what's confusing or broken. Text you type into form fields is masked and not recorded.
• Cookies and local storage: we use a cookie to remember your language, browser storage to remember things like whether you've seen the intro animation, and analytics cookies to count visits and understand usage.

How we use it

• To provide, run and improve the Services, including wine recognition and recommendations.
• To contact you about the waitlist, beta access or a demo you requested.
• To understand how the Services are used and fix problems.
• To keep the Services secure and prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations, including age requirements for alcohol-related content.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

• Service providers who host our infrastructure, provide analytics (such as PostHog), deliver email, or otherwise work on our behalf under contracts that limit how they can use your data.
• Other users, for content you choose to post publicly in the app, such as comments, ratings and stickers.
• Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Pour, our users or others.
• Business transfers: if Pour is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above: for example, waitlist details until launch or until you ask us to remove them, and account data for as long as your account is open. After that we delete or anonymize it, unless we must keep it longer to meet legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
• Correct information that's inaccurate.
• Delete your information or your account.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent you've given.
• Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any of them.

To make a request, email privacy@pour.wine. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

We're based in the United States and our providers may process information in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

Age requirement

The Services are about wine and are intended only for people of legal drinking age, and in any case not for anyone under 21 in the United States. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under that age. If you believe someone underage has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we'll let you know through the Services or by email.
